有媒体报道，贝克汉姆在2008年中国汶川地震时就发来信函，表示正在积极为汶川大地震孤儿救助专项基金策划募捐。“Like anyone, I was saddened to see the natural disaster in China and the　devastation it caused many Chinese people. My thoughts are with those who have suffered and their families. They have shown incredible strength and belief to come through this and everyone has enormous admiration for them.”
