“所有的这些东西都是真实的现实，你可以说，这是之前的事实，当我去使用谷歌街景时，画面呈现出来的，即我那时候看到的真实。所以，从某种角度来看我并不是在创作，而是在解释。我只是用了Google的平台，使用Google街景，点开每一条街道，不过，我基本上看了每一个角落。我看到一些正在发生的事情，有些甚至很有趣。可能是一个男人竖起的中指，可能是一个扑街的老太太，或者是一条活蹦乱跳的狗……我将这些有趣的图像收集在一起，渐渐地你就会发现，这些照片可以组成一个序列，它可以有自己的故事。另外我也会寻找有话题性的，比如“Fuck you”的街拍项目，都是有意思的探索。在做《一系列的不幸事件》时，每一个寻常的日子都会随时发生事情，比如突发心脏病、意外被枪杀。一开始我觉得用Google街景拍摄是一个好机会，它能够让我获得很多意料之外的东西，但是拍摄得越多，不好的东西被拍下来的机会就越大，因为人们不可能停止他们的生活，总是有奇怪的事情不断涌现。

Michael Wolf对谷歌街景的运用甚至还引起了艺术圈的讨论，学术界还用他的作品来讨论是否需要重新定义“新闻摄影” ，大家将焦点放在自动捕捉公共图像的真实性上，以及摄影师身份的变化。在技术手段超级丰富的今天，摄影师是否需要与街拍对象重建一种新的“沟通方式”?
