The Democratic mayor of Nashville, Tenn., revealed Wednesday she''d had anextramarital affair with a member of her security team and admitted shehoped to repair “the damage I have done.”
In a statement, Nashville Mayor Megan Barry apologized to her family and thepeople of Nashville after she confessed to having an affair with the formerhead of her security detail, Sgt. Robert Forrest, starting several monthsafter she took office in 2015.
“I accept full responsibility for the pain I have caused my family and his,” Barry wrote. “I am so sorry to my husband Bruce, who has stood by me inmy darkest moments and remains committed to our marriage, just as I amcommitted to repairing the damage I have done.”
