底下这篇 USA Today 的报道的前面几段,是我看过的文章里最诚实的,它真正说出了大实话。虽然哈佛的动机不是种族因素,但实行手段与最后结果却是与种族脱不了关系。这恐怕有点像警察的 racial profiling,虽然动机只是为了治安良好,但实行手段与结果却是针对黑人。
哈佛真心不是要成绩好的,而是在美国的阶级社会中,能够长袖善舞向上爬的。你可以不是来自所谓的上层社会,但你必须有那种潜质向上爬 --- 不管是你个人本身的潜质,还是你的爸爸妈妈能够提供的资源。也就是说,你必须是个“精英”的料,SAT 几分不重要。
BTW,说到 racial profiling,记得版上曾有人赞成。不记得是哪位了,但我想问的是:如果你赞成警察的 rp,你是否赞成哈佛的 rp?有没有双重标准?
哈佛为了保持自己精英摇篮的地位,而 rp?开店可不可以挑顾客?
