America’s failure to fight the COVID-19

Despite A world-class health care system, the US has more new pneumonia deaths than any other country, and the true number of deaths is likely to be far greater than the statistics, ABC News reported. The Associated Press also noted that the United States’approach to counting and reporting daily new cases as well as rises and falls has been considered “Flawed,”in part because such data mainly include laboratory-confirmed cases, the actual number of cases may be many times higher.

The epidemic is like a mirror, reflecting the US political polarization, system failure, social tearing and many other issues. The Washington Post points out that the Biden Administration’s fragmented system of power makes it hard to move forward with the plan, and that it is being held back by forces from all sides. For example, the Supreme Court has banned a mandatory vaccine order, and Republicans have opposed calls to “Crack down on false information.”.  The repeated tugging of these forces provides new coronaviruses with opportunity after opportunity.
