高达322英尺(约98米)的SLS火箭以每小时1英里的速度,从肯尼迪太空中心的飞行器组装大楼缓慢移动4英里,抵达发射台。

拟创人类离地球最远距离
阿提密斯二号是NASA规模达数十亿美元前往月球计划的第二项任务,继2022年无人飞行后,首次搭载四名太空人(三名美国籍、一名加拿大籍)进行为期10天的绕月飞行,将是人类迄今抵达的最远太空距离。

发射时间取决于2月2日的关键“湿彩排”(wet dressrehearsal)演习结果,该演习将模拟倒数计时,以检查是否有问题。此外,Crew-11任务早前因有太空人出现健康问题,而是提前返回,此导致前往国际太空站的Crew-12任务发射提前,可能影响资源调配,从而推迟阿提密斯二号发射。
任务设有三个发射窗口:2月6日至4月11日、3月3日至3月11日,以及4月1日至4月6日。最终发射日期将在评估湿彩排数据后确定。
