Albert Kahn 是出生于1860年的法国银行家，他的爱好是摄影，经常去很多国家旅行、拍照
突然一天，他想到为什么不用影像记录下整个地球呢？大亨说干就干，召集了多个摄影师
将他们派往全世界各大洲的50多个国家，持续22年
在当时感光材料很落后的情况下，拍摄了72000幅彩色照片，183000米的电影胶卷，Kahn将这个项目命名为“Les Archives de la Planète”（地球档案），为世人留下了珍贵的财富

Albert Kahn 出生于一个贫困的家庭，父亲是牛贩子，母亲是家庭妇女，家中一共4个孩子，Kahn排最小
10岁的时候母亲病重离世，父亲带孩子们搬到圣米歇尔，靠做点小生意度日
Kahn18岁时因聪慧又有胆识被选入银行从小职员做起，不甘平凡的他，向身边的前辈学习
13年后在欧洲最重要的金融机构担任首席，31岁已经成为欧洲数一数二的富豪，他的摄影项目也因此得以实施，但遇上了1929年经济大萧条，他于1931年破产，拍摄因此中止
9年后去世，一生单身，无子嗣
2008年，BBC为其出版了一本摄影集永久藏于法国博物馆沙特阿拉伯
