/ Staff writer, with CNAThe Taipei District Prosecutors’ Office has indicted three additional suspects in a case involving the alleged leaking of military information, which was apprently spearheaded by former TV producer Lee Neng-chien （李能謙）, the office said yesterday.請繼續往下閱讀...Lee, who was indicted in April on espionage-related charges, is accused of leaking the personal data of intelligence agents and sensitive military information to Chinese intelligence operatives in 2024 and last year, prosecutors said.The latest indictment named Hung Chia-pei （洪嘉培）, Chen Wei-shuo （陳偉碩） and Cheng Chao-an （鄭兆安） as participants in the scheme.Hung allegedly attempted to sell a large database of personal information to Chinese intelligence operatives for profit, they said.Hung allegedly obtained a dataset in March last year containing the names, months of birth, national identification numbers, job positions and contact information of a large number of Taiwanese, the indictment said.After meeting Lee in April the same year, Hung allegedly filtered the database using keywords such as “Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” “Ministry of National Defense,” “army,” “navy,” “air force” and “reserves,” and extracted 3,674 records, it said.Lee was allegedly expected to pass the data on to Chinese intelligence operatives, but the deal fell through after the two sides failed to agree on payment, prosecutors said.Chen and Cheng were indicted on suspicion of helping Lee collect personal information on military personnel in April 2024.Lee allegedly instructed Chen to gather information on active-duty military personnel, who then contacted Cheng, who worked in the loan business, prosecutors said.Using former loan customers, Cheng allegedly compiled the names, IDs and phone numbers of people who had military backgrounds into a file and sent it to Chen, they said.Chen then allegedly forwarded the information to one of Lee’s associates in exchange for NT$5,000, they added.Hung was indicted on charges of contravening the National Security Act （國家安全法）, the National Intelligence Services Act （國家情報工作法） and the Personal Data Protection Act （個人資料保護法）.Prosecutors said Hung repeatedly denied wrongdoing and justified his actions, even though he put national security at risk. They recommended that he be handed a prison sentence of more than seven years and six months.Chen and Cheng were indicted on charges of contravening the Personal Data Protection Act, but prosecutors did not recommend prison sentences for either defendant.Lee allegedly began working with a Chinese military intelligence operative known by the code name “Small Blue” in May 2024 to collect personal information on active-duty military personnel and sensitive defense-related information, the April indictment said.He was allegedly recruited last year by another Chinese intelligence contact, known as “Fuzhou Hotspring,” while in Fuzhou, China, it said.Prosecutors alleged he obtained more than 3,000 personal records, including those of intelligence agents and active-duty military personnel, and sent six files to the contact.新聞來源：TAIPEI TIMES
