Rapidus成立于2022年8月，由日本政府联合8家日本产业巨头共同出资组建，总部设在东京，核心目标是实现2纳米先进制程芯片的自主量产 。
报道称，小池淳义表示，“这不是玩笑，而是认真的计划”，月球表面有半导体制造所需的水资源等。
在现场小池淳义还播放了利用人工智能制作的月面工厂构想视频，并称“马斯克应该会喜欢”。
